REGULATIONS
For Swedish Open categories couples and solo you choose your class according to your birthday. (For example if you are 15 years old on 1st of March, you choose U16.)
You can enter your class and one class higher and you can enter only one age class higher (if you dance Rising stars junior U16 latin you can also dance Swedish Open class junior U16 and U19).

For Basic Categories (E, D, C class) and Rising Stars (B klass) you choose your class according to the year you are born in.
Juvenile/Barn - 2014 or later
Junior - born 2011-2013
Youth - born 2008-2010
Amateur - born 2007 or before
Seniors 1 - one born 1991 or before, another 1996 or before
Grand senior - one born 1971, another 1976 or before
Syllabus (basic -any basic steps approved by WDC, WDSF or WDO)
Juvenile E, D, C, B- only basic steps (WDO, WDC, WDSF)
For all other ages:
E-only basic Waltz/Cha- Cha (simple basic)
D-only basic Waltz, Quickstep/ Cha-Cha, Jive (simple basic)
C-only basic Waltz, Tango, Quickstep/Cha-Cha, Rumba, Jive
Rising Stars (B)-Waltz, Tango, Slowfox, Quickstep-free choreography, Cha cha, Samba, Rumba, Jive - free choreography.
In Swedish Open groups Jive and Viennese Waltz will be danced from Semifinal in all groups.

Please note that in SOLO BALLROOM you are allowed to use arms and full body (American smooth inspiration).
Dress regulation and make-up

Under 8 and Under 10 (newcomers) - no restrictions, glitter, stones are allowed. Very little/natural make-up is allowed.This category is for beginners only.

Juvenile and U12 - no stones or glitter. Very little/natural make-up is allowed.

E-D-C class- no stones.

Rising Stars and A class - Stones, glitter and tail suit are allowed.
